Flexibility, technological advances and a lack of young talents – the work environment is undergoing a rapid process of changes. This especially affects personnel managers. According to a survey by the University Quadriga in Berlin – commissioned by Xing – 92% of HR experts experience the effects of the changes.

However, half of them admit to the lack of an overview about suitable measures as to how to respond to this development. Adjustments are especially tried by improving the leadership culture and the work-life-balance. Furthermore, personnel managers try to keep an open mind towards new developments.

However, concrete and innovative concepts appear to still be lacking. This would require fundamental interventions by the HR management into the company culture and structures – in cooperation with the company management. That exactly seems to be the tricky spot: 60 percent of the 600 surveyed specialists evaluate the innovative strength of their own company as moderate or even poor at best. At the same time it is obvious that the transformation ability will a vital competitive factor in the future – not only within the HR field.
